The beef cows that were out on pasture in the summer of 2024 will be ready for butcher sometime at the beginning of Fall 2025 (September-ish)
If there is enough interest in another cow's worth of Beef, we will have a second butcher date just before Christmas 2025
If you're just wanting to try out our beef, we recommend putting in a one-time order to see how quickly you go through it. If you know you go through lots of beef every month, and have a large family (and a large freezer) then a bulk order of beef might be for you! A ½ cow is a great way to "lock in" the price of your beef for potentially a whole year, and if you go through 25 pounds of beef a month, this might be a great fit. If you like the thought of bulk savings but the up front investment seems daunting, you can try out one our mixed ¼ option instead!
When it comes to bulk beef, we keep it simple. We deal with the Butcher and go over the cut list to get you a great variety of different cuts. Each bulk beef order comes with about 1/3 roasts, 1/3 steaks and 1/3 ground beef, slightly favouring ground beef over roasts.
We do mixed quarters instead of front and rear quarters to ensure that everyone gets an equal portion of every cut!
Yes! we are proud to say that we raise our beef without the use of antibiotics or other additives.
If you are a single person who can't eat all the beef in a bulk order, by all means, split the share with another person. If you do split a share, we need to know with whom you are sharing, so they also get an email around the time when the beef will be ready for pickup. You are responsible for how the share will be divided and we prefer one payment for both parties. We ask that no more than 2 people split a bulk order.
Yes! If you cannot pick up your order yourself, simply send a substitute! All you have to do is let us know who will be coming in your absence, and all they have to do is give us your name during pickup. Your substitute will have to bring their own boxes/coolers etc. to pack the order into.
We offer a money-back guarantee for the deposit amount, up to two weeks before the butcher date.
There are 3 options to pay online. We understand the simplicity of paying via credit card online, so we do offer the option in our online store, however we ask you to consider using E-Transfer, or cheque instead, to help us curb those hefty credit card fees! you can mail your check (made out to Brandon La Rose, OR Manita La Rose) To: 516134 11th Line, Tavistock Ontario N0B 2R0
Yes, yes and yes! We understand the ease and simplicity that paying by these methods can offer, so we provide this option for you. However we do prefer that payment be made via cheque, or e-transfer.
Fees must be paid in full before we distribute the beef. No beef will be distributed until payment is received in full. If payment has not been made by the time the meat is ready from the butcher, we will consider the agreement null and void, and you will lose the deposit amount.
