What's in a Bulk Beef Order

Buying beef in bulk from your local farmer goes much farther than just what's in the box.

Apart from the nutrient-dense, nutrient-balanced beef cuts that come in a box, our beef comes the satisfaction of knowing where your food comes from, knowing who raised it, and knowing that everyone from the employees at the feed store to the local abattoir have been supported in the process.

Keeping your money close to home, and building up your community while also feeding your family the best quality food money can buy.

That's what's in the box

... What's all the hype about?

Imagine being a "partner" in a local farm, and receiving a box of the farms' harvest, grown and raised by that local farmer. Then going home and cooking up a storm packed full of nutrient dense protein that you and your family can enjoy, and you have peace of mind KNOWing what's in your food, where is came from, who grew it, and how it was raised. By committing to a bulk product up front. you're not only helping the farmer financially, but you're partnering in supporting the farmer while your meat is still actively being raised and cared for and nurtured by that farmer. That's something worth supporting.

What comes in the Box?

You can expect consistent quality cuts with fat still on the cut (that's where all the good stuff is after all!) Grass-fed beef can tend to be a bit leaner than the corn-fed alternatives from the grocery store. What this means is that it's easier to over-cook, and should be cooked a little lower and slower but don't worry, you'll get the hang of it!

Every bulk beef order, whether you choose a mixed quarter, or a half-cow, comes with somewhat equal parts of steaks, roasts, and ground beef, with a slight bias towards ground beef.

How do I get my Beef?

At checkout, you'll be asked to choose to pick up at the farm. Once your bulk beef order is brought to the butcher, we will be in contact to arrange the pickup of your bulk beef order either directly from the butcher (right between Stratford and Tavistock) or from the farm in Hickson

We prefer to arrange pickup straight from the butcher especially since our own freezer space is limited!

Once the butcher date comes closer, we will be in contact with you to discuss what pickup option is best for you!

How Does Payment Work?

A Down payment of approximately half of the total price is paid up front at the time of ordering.

Once we receive the final hanging weight from the butcher, we will send a final bill with the down payment deducted from the total to get you the remaining amount owing

  1. Pay directly through the online store with your credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

  2. To help us avoid hefty credit card fees, we ask that you consider payment via E-Transfer to our email: windrosefarm22@gmail.com or:

  3. Pay by cheque: make cheques payable to either Brandon La Rose or Manita La Rose. If paying by cheque, we must receive it one week before your beef pickup date. Cheques can be mailed to the farm address.

If you need to break up the amount into smaller disbursements, that's totally ok! Just send us your cheques post-dated to the dates you would like us to cash them. Just as long as your order is paid in full before the first box.
